One of the World’s Most Exclusive Film Festivals Opens Its Doors
Flashing cameras, gowns, and the magic of cinema - the Beverly Hills Film Festival (BHFF) is a dream for filmmakers. Each year, this prestigious festival attracts more than 55,000 visitors and offers a platform to some of the most promising talents in the film world.
And this year? This year, Charlotte Verminck from Knokke-Heist steps into the spotlight with her film Mind of Thoughts.
A Festival for the Top of the Film Industry
The Beverly Hills Film Festival was founded in 2000 and is one of the most influential film festivals in the world. It focuses on the art of storytelling and celebrates the greatest emerging talents in cinema.
What makes the festival so special?
• Exclusive selection: Only the best independent films are screened.
• Networking opportunities: Filmmakers, producers, and critics from Hollywood come together.
• Prestigious awards: Prizes such as the Golden Palm Award and Best Feature Film help filmmakers break through.
For five days, Beverly Hills becomes the epicenter of cinematic innovation, with red carpet events, workshops, and panel discussions.

Among international talents, a Belgian production also shines this year: Mind of Thoughts, directed and produced by Charlotte Verminck.
The film follows an artist entangled in her own thoughts. What is real, and what is illusion?Charlotte responds enthusiastically: “So incredibly grateful to everyone who worked on Mind of Thoughts and brought this film to life!”
Knokke-Heist also played a role in the production. Open House for the Arts “MAAK” provided many props essential for the production - think backgrounds, shaders, and photography props. Visual artist Inge D’Hulster also created a special artwork that plays a symbolic role in the film.
Springboard to Hollywood
The Beverly Hills Film Festival isn’t just an honor to attend - it’s also an enormous opportunity. Films screened here often catch the attention of major film studios and streaming services.
For Charlotte Verminck and her team, this festival represents a chance to showcase their work to a global audience. Who knows? Maybe Mind of Thoughts will soon appear on major platforms like Netflix or Amazon Prime.
